do you belong to the 95% of the world's population who purchased an I love New York t-shirt at some point? within the big apple this shirt is quite possibly the most inexpensive item of clothing anyone could buy. the current prize averages out at $2. the time when it was hip to wear one of those is long gone and the question remains - what to do with it? trash it? lock it up until it will be fashionable again in the 2030s? the gentleman below suggests to turn the message of love away from nyc and towards oneself. i like it.

i'm a woman now
so yesterday was my birthday and i turned 26 which means i'm now in my early late twenties. like that wasn't sad enough i was bitter about being back in london where i never have any money and i never know whether to go to that party or read a book on mentalization (i study psychology). since i didnt bother making any celebration plans i stopped by at the dazed&confused party which wasn't really happening either. the hottest people of the night are the ones below
you may remember him. so hot.
[cute]
famous fred - my only guy-friend who manages to steal all the hot straight boys from me

don't be fooled
it wasn't actually cold enough in berlin last weekend to justify this girl's fur hat and boots. i suppose that when you have 4 months of cold, those winter clothes sort of grow on you and some of us struggle to put them away for 2 and a half seasons. may this be the last fur hat i post until october.

sleepless nights in berlin
the weekend in berlin was much too short and now i'm back in in london. in 4 days i slept a total of 12 hours. whoever said new york was the city that never sleeps has obviously not been to berlin.

the average berliner friday night awesomeness
today i got home from last night's madness at 9 am! of course there are people in berlin for whom the party doesnt start before that. i had the best night at death by pop, where the fabulous liz dj's and after we sprinted over to the villa which is an amazing new venue and a worthy replacement for the much missed RIO. as soon as i sober up a bit more i'll try and get around to posting last night's party pictures.

mod berlin
there's quite a scene in berlin evolving around the memory of the 60's mod culture. stylewise they're definatley among my favorites. part of that crowd are actress and musician sadie and her boyfriend who was djing at 8mm last night.

meet my friends
coming back to berlin always feels like having your grandma make you hot chicken soup and providing you with all the dvd's you've ever wanted to watch. what i'm saying is, after the bust of london, paris or new york, berlin always makes me want to settle down and relax, meet a nice man and have kids and a dog. everyone here is just so laid-back and cool - a great place to meet some of the best people you'll ever meet.
i decided to give you a bit of insight into my circle of bff's. yesterday we met for a drink at 8mm, decidedly my favorite bar in this town and in my top 3 worldwide.
this is michael. he is 26 and from new york. after having lived in berlin on and off for almost 5 years and working primarily as a journalist, he now lives back in nyc where he's currently starting a business importing healthy german bread into unhealthy america. michael is super smart, super well organised and, well, super.
liz is 25 and "the cutest person in the world". she's one of the best dj's ever (you heard it here first) and will make your legs swing and your heart beat. she's adorable at not sticking to diet plans and is a mean karaoke partner.
drea is 28 and amazing. if i were a guy i'd ask her to marry me, because this girl can cook, blog and dance, which i still believe are the three most essential qualities a woman can have. she's a package of smartness and goodness and patience (all things one needs when puttin up with me.)
katja is 27 and an incessant source of inspiration to me. luckily she likes getting her picture taken so i can hassle her with my requests for poses and positions as much as i want. katja smokes too much, complains too much and has no clue how to spend money but she means well and is an overall lovely person.

less is more
the other day i nearly made it into the london paper when i fell asleep with the electronic hot air heater on waking up 4 hours later and realising that the heater had melted all the plastic that was near, including the adapter i need to load the battery to my camera. so with low battery power and new shoes i went to Circus last night and made sure that no pictures would be wasted. quality, not quantity was the motto and below you find digital witnesses of some of last night's most fabulous attendants.

british fashion council party london
ok, so as i wrote in my last post i snuck into this fashion party and caught everyone on camera when they least expected it. some people of course expect it constantly, which is why they look fab always. fashion victims 'r us!
monsieur who got bored of being admired and adored
demoiselle who couldn't decide whether to eat fruit or candy, so she had both
the nieces of brigitte bardot. lovely gals
fashion is war and peace
this is what happens when i drink too much. people lose their heads.

glamcanyon magazine, darling!
ok, so i've been doing my very best not to attend any shows or hunt around the london fashion week tent, primarily because that's just the obvious thing to do and i have plenty of collegues who cover that field with great expertise. one thing, however, i cannot stay away from is a hot party with free champagne and exciting looks.
the british fashion council hosted such a party last night at beach blanket babylon in shoreditch and i had a mighty good time. superficial of course, but hilarious for that. for example the question "where are you from?" is by no means directed at your country of origin but much more the company you work for. i got asked just that as i took people's pictures. i could sense the dissapointment in their voices when i could not ome up with some fancy fashion mag. maybe next time i'll just say: "GLAMCANYON MAGAZINE, darling!" haha. do put the word darling behind absolutely everything you're going to say to anyone. oh and stock up on those cocktails before they switch to complimentary beer and wine only. i'll post the party pictures later today, when i get around to it.

how to have the time of your life
as you may have realised by now i am always interested in uncovering the secrets behind a good party and a fab look. i had such a good time at saturday's For3ign that I decided to take it as my departure point for a little analysis of what you need to do in order to enjoy yourself fully at a club of your choice.
a) either go with good friends or make sure you'll meet/make some there
b) dance like there is no tomorrow
c) be outrageous! 15 minutes of fame start for you the minute you get on that bar and shake your back for the masses
d) engage sexually with anyone you please (safely, of course)
e) pose for the camera -looking good is crucial when someone points their camera at you. this moment will be available worldwide and you want to look hot
f) despite hords of club paparazzi, it's often enjoyable to just take some snaps of you and your friends. and put them on myspace.
the whole album is available by clicking here or on the slideshow below

"you just let go and you go with your friends and you have fun and you dance and you drink"
on this special sunny saturday in london i will reveal to you my best-kept secret when it comes to going out. it's called Dalston Jazz Bar and seriously is my favorite bar in all of london. it's where i come when i want to be among unpretentious laid-back folk who come to have a good time. everyone dances to fabulous 60's soul and you make a ton of new friends. this may not be the spot for london's Nr 1 fashionistas but it certainly is boss for people who know how to have a good time.

ps: this place is also home to the best caipirinha in town

the secret of wearing black
the color black has always been a fashion mystery to me. just when i thought i've officially ruled it out of my personal book of DO'S i find the cutest black dress and suddenly it's my new favorite color. maybe the question is less whether to wear black or not, it's more about how you wear it and what you combine it with.
i love a black skirt or a blouse but only in combination with something red, white or brown. it's not an easy task to dress in all black and get away with it. below are 3 of my friends who pull it off. what we can learn from them are the following rules:
a) mix texture. suede, cotton, leather, sequence, lace - all in one outfit
b) make up. an all black outfit risks to be overlooked by the club-paparazzi so u want those dramatic black eye-brows and the dark lipstick.
c) wear it with confidence. just when you thought you could blend in with the masses and hide behind your all black outfit - think again! be outrageous, theatrical, extravagant.
the most avant-garde of colours needs an avant-garde fashionista to pull it off.

cool artist mum and daughter
for those of you who've been checking on glamcanyon since the beginning - you may distantly remember a time when i posted more daytime street fashion than anything else. due to personal lazyness and cold i dont really do that anymore. but the other day i ran into this mum and her adorable little daughter and i found i had to share their look with you. awwww

images of collapsing new people
alright, time to unvail last night's locations. we started out at a party called collapsing new people in hoxton which was pretty cool but closed really early at 2. so we moved on to images and now this place i really like. it's a former strip club and has lots of little dark rooms ideal for all types of sin. they have a lovely heated outside smoking area and fairly good music. very recommended. see below for the remaining images

the whole package
a couple of weeks ago the sartorialist posted a picture of a very handome young gentleman wearing some very revealing tight pants. whilst the general american public was upset at him showing off his, erm, appeal, i applaud this look like no other. i think it's manly, mod and sexy as fuck. here's my find in the field (just click on the picture for a close up :)
