the next best thing

now that BOOMBOX no longer exists there is panic in the land. desperate hipsters send me emails asking about other parties approaching an equal level of cool. what i tell them is that one cannot replace a double chocolate cake with rasperries and sprinkles for a croissant. but i do inform them about a couple of places that comfort me with good music and fun people in these boomboxfree times. the one on top of my list is Circus. created by local wonderwoMan Jodie Harsh, it attracts the fabulous, the obscure and the fabulously obscure. see below for some fine examples of either one and come back tomorrow for the album with the party photos.

while the delightful female below is of course a lady i am not willing to bet that the two gentlemen are actual tramps. both are sporting quite a particular elegance and sophistication. i can dig it.

tonight i met with my berlin-buddy Momo for a drink at the old shoreditch station and imagine my surprise when i saw him wear the exact same fur coat i have too! luckily for both of us i didnt wear it tonight but still funny enough. we stated further similarities when we realized we owned the same camera and we both drank red wine all night. oh yeah - we both wore skirts, too. to be fair, his wasnt actually a skirt as you can see, rather a dress. a man dress so to speak. i highly encourage men of all shapes and sizes to try the same. so next time you want to impress your date, let them know that you're perfectly comfortable with showing your female side and wear a lovely dress!

good hair daze

i have to say, one sees a lot of interesting hair do's in london.
my favorite for girls is going back to a cross between a 20's bob and mireille mathieu with the number one rule of bangs bang bangs. for boys it's often a very industrial clean cut sort of look which is occasionally met with the rebellious chic of romantic long curls.

the new year is (not) black and white

now i dont know about all of you but my new year's eve was not all that for the most part. i'm not going into detail about the why's but i assume it's the way it goes. how many people can actually say that their nye was among the best nights of the year.
the only nice part of my evening were a couple of hours at the new apartment of my friends, the dandies. if you click on the slideshow you can peak into an nye-special black and white edition of small private party shots.

dear darlings,
glamcanyon is celebrating its first of many christmases. the past 8 months have been lovely and i have a feeling that it can only get better. thanks to all of you who come checking in on occasion and who stay loyal when my lazy ass won't post anything for weeks. i happen to know that a big load of perfectly fabulous people read glamcanyon and that is all i want. i hope to keep returning the inspiration that i get from all of you. keep wearing your mindsets on the outside. they look good there ;)

a picknick in berlin

after losing my id, missing my flight and a desperate search for a next day flight below 2000 euros i have arrived in berlin yesterday. it is so cold it freezes my brain but i still love it.
like on every good saturday night out in berlin i went to picknick which is always good for awesome people/awesome fun. below are a couple of cool kids and stay tuned for some general party action pictures to come.
